Cause

Bangladesh Flood Appeal 2024

The recent floods in Bangladesh have wreaked havoc across several districts, including Cumilla, Feni, Noakhali, Khagrachari, and Cox’s Bazar. Torrential rains combined with landslides from neighbouring India have exacerbated the situation, leading to widespread devastation.

Thousands of families have been displaced, with their homes and livelihoods destroyed. The situation is dire, with entire communities submerged, roads cut off, and access to essential services severely restricted. The affected districts are experiencing severe food insecurity as a direct consequence of the floods. Crops have been destroyed, and local markets have been disrupted, leaving many families without access to basic food supplies. In these critical times, providing immediate food aid is essential to prevent malnutrition and hunger among the most vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and the disabled.

Assessment done by our partner on the ground indicates that approximately 2,500 families, or around 12,500 individuals, are in urgent need of food assistance. The food packs, containing rice, pulses, oil, sugar, molasses, salt, oral saline, pure water, and other essential items, are designed to meet the immediate nutritional needs of these families for a period of time. This aid will not only address their immediate hunger but also provide them with the strength and resilience to rebuild their lives after the floodwaters recede.

The Messenger of Allah (PUBH) said: “Whoever relieves a hardship for a believer in this world, Allah will relieve one of his hardships on the Day of Resurrection.”

We adopt a 100% donations policy, and this is a great Sadaqa and Zakah-eligible cause.

Please, donate generously and keep us and the people of Bangladesh in your du`aa.
