SEVEN SPIKES SUMMER CAMP 2024
WHAT AND WHY: Seven Spikes Relief is pleased to offer our Muslim community members of all ages (especially families) a chance to stay together in a beautiful countryside campsite where they get to know one another more closely and enjoy a local vacation and halal entertainment with various social, religious, sports and cultural activities. The campsite is locally located in Chigwell, thus, we can enjoy the beauty of the countryside and woodlands and get great social and religious benefits while still very close to our homes. Each family is expected to arrange their own transport and the campsite is easily accessible by car, taxi, bus and train.
WHEN : The last weekend and bank holiday of August, from 12 pm on Saturday 24th of August to 1 pm on Monday (bank holiday) 26th of August 2024. Participants are advised to attend the three days to benefit from the full program and complete experience over the entire camp period..

SLEEPING ARRANGMENTS: Seven Spikes Relief has booked forest lodges with basic bedding to be shared by people of the same gender. Rooms will be assigned to brothers and sisters randomly. Participants of the same family who wish to stay together are permitted to be in the same room, but males with males and females with females. Kindly note that beds have pillows and mattresses only, so you need to bring bed linings, bed sheets, covers, etc.
If you do not want to use the lodges, you can bring your own tents/sleeping bags. Seven Spikes will NOT set up communal tents , so each family has to bring their own tent. Yet if you would like to hire a tent, please get in touch to book your tent which costs £10 per night for tents that sleep up to 4 and £20 per night for tents that sleep up to 8 people. It is your responsibility to erect the tent and put it down and clean before giving it back as received. Families using tents can stay together with their family members without any restrictions on gender. Separation between males and females applies to lodgers only.
In addition, we booked a centrally-heated self-contained lodge that can be used for cooking and shelter in case of bad weather conditions.
Some people may wish to go and sleep at their homes and then come back in the morning; we do not encourage this as it will deprive you of the full experience, but it is up to each individual/family to choose their sleeping arrangements.
What Is Included
The event is organized and supervised by Seven Spikes Relief, which is a registered charity serving the Muslim Community in various parts of the world, and it is subsidized by the charity. The subsidized fees cover the lodge, full board including two barbecues and drinks as well as various activities.
Cost
£65 per head for lodgers and £49.99 per head for tent users. Fees are for any person aged 4 years or more by the time of the event. Kids under 4 (born after 24/08/2020) go free. The cost is subsidized by Seven Spikes Relief as a service to the Muslim Community, so any donations/extra contributions towards the actual cost are welcome and appreciated.

Activities include Archery, Pony and Cart, Ropes, Short Zip, Climbing, Swimming or Kayaking, tug of war, nerf gun, Football, tennis, Basketball, Barbecues, Campfire, as well as religious and cultural quizzes and competitions.
